Selected Work – Surface Ink

Every image here came off our own printer — up to 2880 dpi, five colors including white. Printed straight onto the surface, never applied over it.

Two sea turtles and a coral reef printed across a full interior wall, printer on its rail alongside — One continuous image across the whole wall. Nothing is joined, so there is no seam to find.

Scale is not the hard part

The printer runs on a rail, so length is effectively unlimited — a mural does not have to be assembled from panels. Height reaches roughly ten feet on a wall and thirteen across a floor.

Detail holds at arm’s length

Photographic subjects, fine line work and small type all survive the process. The test is not how it reads across the room — it is how it reads when someone walks up to it.

Smaller pieces and floors

The same machine prints floors as well as walls, so a scheme can carry across both.
